Workshop 18: The future meets the tried and tested - Vienna's new residential quarters networking with existing buildings
Thuesday, 19. November 2019 | 13:00 – 17:00
Tech Gate Vienna | Multimedia Stage Auditorium | Donau-City-Straße 1, 1220 Vienna

What it is about?

Social housing in Vienna is the motor of urban development and thus a guarantee for affordable and high-quality housing. These new living quarters meet already existing structures of historically grown city districts and their inhabitants. The Housing Research Day 2019 focuses on the design, social and ecological added value that new housing developments can and should provide for the neighbouring existing city.

The aspect of social networking and therefor a good cooperation is of particular importance. The perspectivs of how networking within newly created neighbourhoods works and how it succeeds with the existing environment will be the two main topics.

Heidrun Eberle, working at the SIM Social Planning and Neighbourhood Development Institute in Munich, will be giving a guest lecture on "Neighbourhood development as a social process".
